Welcome to my adventures.

I like books, baking and travel. Follow along with me as I begin my new adventure in Melbourne!

Books I Read in January

Books I Read in January

I've always loved reading. I was a shy kid, so I always brought a book with me everywhere. I still do actually. You never know when you will get stuck somewhere. And I used to always get stuck in the car with the dog while my mom did errands.

I mostly read ebooks from the library on my ipad. I love 'real' paper books, but it's just not practical when we live in a tiny flat. And ebooks are so good for travelling! I can't wait to have a proper bookshelf in my house one day. We always joke that Tj wants the walk-in closet, and I would love a home library.

I've decided Friday posts will be book related. I usually read during my commute, while watching TV, and before bed. But when I'm into a good book all I want to do is keep reading until I find out what happens. I read really fast, and usually forget what the book was about by the time I've moved onto the next one. That's why I've started keeping a list of books I've read and rating them. There's nothing worse than getting halfway through a book before realising I've already read it.

Here are the books I've read in January 2018:

  1. In the Midst of Winter by Isabel Allende
  2. Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
  3. The Midnight Line by Lee Child
  4. The Fifth Letter by Nicole Moriarty
  5. One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus (YA)
  6. The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle
  7. Always by Sarah Jio
  8. There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins (YA)
  9. Before the Fall by Noah Hawley
  10. The Safest Lies by Megan Miranda (YA)
  11. Lucky in Love by Kasie West (YA)
  12. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (YA)
  13. Insidious Intent by Val McDermid

There are a few Young Adult books on there that I enjoy because they are nice, quick reads. There are also a few books that are part of series that I'm into.

Top recommendations this month: Little Fires Everywhere and Before the Fall.

Least favourite: Always

We have some exciting stuff coming up over the next few weeks! Our first guest arrives today! I am so excited. Check in next week to see what we get up to with our visitor.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend :)
