Tj in Japan
Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend. This was Tj’s first weekend in Melbourne in over a month and it was great to have him back. We went to a new cafe and for a nice walk around the neighbourhood. I have been working on making our balcony a useable space and have suddenly become really into plants. Hopefully, I can keep them alive.
Today Tj is sharing some of his pictures from his trip to Japan. These photos are from Tokyo, Kobe, and Kyoto. Here is what Tj wrote:
The food was absolutely incredible. The options at a restaurant in Tokyo are much more diverse than a Japanese restaurant in Australia or Canada.
The weather was perfect - t-shirt weather but not too hot.
Everything just works so well in Japan which makes you wonder how come we don’t do it the same way everywhere else. For example, getting around in Japan was so easy, efficient, and cheap with trains and subways that you wonder why anyone would drive their own car in the city.
It is the most unique culture I have experienced. There is just something about how Japanese people go about their daily lives and carry themselves in such a respectful and calm manner that really stands out for me. I read somewhere that the instinct to preserve face within the Japanese culture really influences their behaviour to the point where they are not fully aware of it. You could see this play out in many experiences that I had in Japan.
Have a great week :)
